Looking forward to the gig on 25th April in the Soundhouse
It’s great to have Magazines come back and join us here at Garageland. Magazines all met through friends and college. They have been together officially since summer 2018 . The band consists of Catherine who is lead singer and plays rhythm guitar. That is followed by Shayne on lead guitar, Tom on the bass, and Dan on drums. Influences range from Wolf Alice, to Nirvana, to The Cure, to Smashing Pumpkins, as well as pop music of today. It’s hard to pin point as of now what our “genre” is, but I suppose it fluctuates between rock and pop.
Aleigh is a Dublin based act and musical guise of singer/songwriter and musician Aoife Leigh. Formed in 2017 Aleigh has been a regular around the Dublin music scene. With her quirky style the jaunty rhythms of her songs often belie the dark stark heart told by her lyrics along with her ability to tug at heart strings through more pensive songs. Folowing a brief musical hiatus to focus on writing and recording new material Aleigh is now set for some new releases in 2019
Akrasia make a welcome return to Garageland after their debut stormer in February – highly recommended!
The Marquees are a four piece alternative rock band who are influenced by mainly rock and pop artists. The line up consists of Mark Mitchell on drums, Pearce Fitzpatrick on bass, Sean Walsh on lead guitar and John kennedy on vocals and rhythm guitar. They have been together for a year and have been writing music and aiming to create their own unique sound with help from some of their favourite artists. All in all they just enjoy playing and writing music and hope that people enjoy their sound and have fun listening to their music :).
