Stone Blind State
Stone Blind State is a rock band from Wexford, Ireland. The band formed at the beginning of 2017. The band members consists of Bryan Murphy on vocals, Gary Davitt on lead guitar, Mick McDonagh on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Cathal Fitzpatrick on bass and Ryan Cox on drums.
In the band there is a wide range of influences : from singer/songwriters to grunge and hard
rock bands. The members of Stone Blind State Combined influences to find a fresh blend of rock n’roll. Together a unique rock sound was found in which to work from and begin writing music and
creating their first E.P. The band spent the majority of 2017 writing material to produce first E.P slated for release Spring of 2018.
Stone Blind State’s first E.P titled ‘Dissident’, comprises of 5 songs: Don’t Hate Me, Losing the Girl, Headspace, Hollow and No Halo. The title ‘Dissident’ for the band represented the music. A break from the norm and the current music scene. A new sound and attitude of rock n’ roll missing in the Irish music scene.
The bands first single ‘Don’t Hate Me’ is currently being played internationally on radio stations in Canada
and the UK. Following Airplay in Canada the band held an interview with Canadian radio station in Ontario while the band was in the recording studio in January. Another interview with the radio station is to be held
before the release of their E.P. On this station Don't Hate Me is being played on regular repeat
along side bands such as Led Zeppelin, U2 and Guns N’ Roses.
Two of their songs - Don’t Hate Me and No Halo, were uploaded to the music website Reverbnation in
September 2017 with the band reaching No.1 on October 3rd on the Dublin rock chart and
making the top 10 on the National chart. January 2018 the band was chosen to feature on the new Spotlight Programme of 2018. Which will feature the band playing gigs and support slots in the South East. Stone Blind State is currently building dates in Dublin for 2018 and the future.
